I’m a probate and estate planning associate, I’m looking to pivot to a non-attorney or possibly in-house kind of position but I’m not sure what areas/fields I want to move to yet. I think at this point I’d really love a bridge job like remote doc review or other term contract work while I explore and get applications out. Anyone know good places to get short term work like that without prior experience? I have none for ediscoverry software or transactional/contract review

I would not advise the route you’re considering if you are currently employed with a reputable firm. Going to remote doc review/lower level contract work can often be a career killer. If you are gainfully employed and not in some sort or horrific situation, I advise sticking it out and applying while you have current employment as leverage. Especially in this market. I know that’s probably not what you want to hear, but I think it will serve you best to take that approach. Best of luck in your search.

I think what you describe sounds borderline horrific. I hope you land somewhere that gives you the time you need to locate the perfect long term role for you:-)

Where are you located? Would you consider trying estate planning and probate at a more reasonable firm? Or could you use an introduction to a career coach to help you plan your next move? Feel free to dm me.

I’m in the metro Detroit area, I would consider a focus on estate planning but I think I’m just too burned out on probate.

My passion cannot feed my family but I've been burned out so much after years in Tax. 😞

I'm SVP/strategy for a PR agency. I moved into PR, Healthcare, and Strategic Planning only 3 years ago. Or that I'm qualified). But long-term, knowing account roles are so much more plentiful than brand planning in PR, I'm wondering if I should start thinking about account. Anyone here moved from strategy to account?
