Consulting bowl when all Deloitters move to MBB.

Tata Consultancy I am a manager in Capgemini... have an offer frm TCS. the designation being offered is Assistant Consultant.. 9.8 years experience( 5 yrs with Cap) Even though I am getting a package of 25Lakhs.. it seems like a demotion in designation.. Cg has offered to match upto 23.5 lakhs.. Is it worth moving to TCS on this grade? My primary reason for moving out of Cg is i m bored of beauocracy and WLB at current project. Is it a good idea to still switch with the counter offer from Cg Capgemini Tata Consu

The awards won’t do as much as you think they will. Sustained success is the only true path forward, not hardware. So I’d stay if you feel valued and fulfilled at your job. I’d go if you feel undervalued. Don’t make this choice off your assumption that you might win a Cannes lion in a couple years. There is no way to predict that.

If you're happy where you are, stay.
If you're unhappy where you're at, leave.
Finding a spot you like is one in a million.
If you're "take it or leave it" then, what's more important to you? Winning awards or title? My gut says, that just the fact that you're conflicted about it suggests you want to stay but feel like you SHOULD take the title because it's a promotion.
So, if that's the case, stay.

👆🏼I agree with this advice. 100%.
If one agency wants you as a CD now, then after your great work and Cannes win...you might get better offers for CD later. But stay, and make great work you can be proud of forever.

While youre on the younger side, always follow the work.
It’ll extend your career by years.
By younger, what age range are we talking?

Go for the title man. I won a gold lion and still stuck as sr and really regret not taking an acd position somewhere else.
Caveat. The agency you are going really matters too.
Yeah I get that. I'm trying to figure out if I can instigate change for the second agency as a CD. They're good but it feels like I might have to start from scratch.
I became a cd, went client side a few years later.
Never won a lion, had a good career in agencies. I now work half as much and make three times what I did before, so there is the glory path but also think about what you can actually buy a house with.
I’m not sure why it gave me this title I’m a global creative director

What makes you think you can win one at one agency and not the other? Your talent comes with you!
@SC1 myself and my partner are on a roll at the moment, I'd put my success down to us, not just me. And we have a pretty good strategy department. I can definitely write and concept to that standard but the variable is I don't know what anyone in this other agency is like first hand. Guess you never do until you're there really.
Seen lots of friends jump the gun on a shiny title, only to have their work stagnate. You might make a little more money now, but you’ll be less marketable long term
My 2c- take the title when you’re ready to settle in. People expect a CD to build up the team over several years
are you actually ready to be a CD or even want to be? As someone who is somewhere in between it’s a big difference going from doing the work to managing it and other people’s ideas.

Focus on making good work. Awards are given on a political and monetary basis, up to your agency.
I would remind everyone that business has always been about the team. No single person wins anything without the help of others. If you respect the people you work with and believe in them, stay. If not, move on, but go for the team not the title. When your done you’ll remember the people you worked with far more than a silly trophy. That is if you have any depth of character at all.
I agree that people are more important than metal but we also work in advertising where sadly the average tenure of anyone is 2-3 years, per company. At least that's true in my market. So it's highly likely that wherever you go, you end up working with the same people at some point.
Going from a Senior to a CD is a huge jump. Are you sure you’re ready? I would also be wary of an agency offering that role to someone who is a Senior Creative. You most likely don’t have the experience at that point in your career. But hey, who knows — worked for Droga didn’t it?
@CD2 We do have ACDs now btw ... GCDs too
