Is this normal now? I’m trying to be more assertive without pricing myself out. For those of you in finance, especially roles like corporate finance or accounting, how do you figure out when to push and when to hold back during salary talks? What signals do you look for?

My psychiatrist today revealed to me that I may have ADHD, still a hypothesis that he is still exploring but from my personal experiences and discussions with therapist, it seems likely.

One example of personal experience is my ongoing prep for case studies as I'm interviewing with a number of firms. I do struggle to keep focus and generally take a bit longer to finish them, specifically the structuring of the case. Does anybody else feel the same way and any recommendations to overcome this?

Unreliable coworker help - There’s a coordinator on my team who assists me and the other strategists but literally every time I ask her to help with something she says yes & then waits until the last minute to tell me she wasn’t able to do it/makes up an emergency excuse. I’m graduating in December, with a background in environmental economics and policy. Consulting didn’t work out this cycle. Made it to final rounds for Bain and Kearney but in the end didn’t get an offer. I want to recoup and try again, but I’m worried that once I’m out of undergrad the door will be closed to starting in consulting.

What can I do to make this happen? I have friends and connections at Bain and Kearney and the other firms as well, but not sure if it’s feasible now.

Sweaty post-workout question. If I finish a bike or run in the heat I am usually just pouring sweat for the next 15 or so mins. So I've gotten into the habit of just putting a towel or yoga mat down on the floor and laying/stretching until I am not going to throw sweat everywhere or step in to the shower and step out still sweating. Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

I have been approached with an opportunity at JP Morgan Chase for their private client advisor role. The book is about 30M all in. I am currently an experienced hybrid asset manager wholesaler and have experience in advising as well. Curious about the opportunity with JPM and if it’s worth it. I currently make about 160k and if JPM would give me a high draw for the first 3 years to build, and if it’s feasible to sustain that 160+ there.

I accepted a FADP offer but I have lifelong crippling anxiety It leads to (TMI) diarrhea, I can’t sleep at night, among a lot of other issues. I see a therapist and have their support in school accom. I appear high functioning and ever since uni went remote my life and performance has only improved. I know I’m capable of getting the work done and they must see potential if they hired me. But I feel that if I ask for WFH or other accom. I’m gonna be shooting myself and my career in the foot.
