Hi, I belong to the corporate bowl but I have snuck in to ask if anyone would be interested in assisting the Ukranian Crisis Legal Aid organisation that has been set up by a Hungarian law firm to pair up refugees and lawyers. The website is https://ukrainelegalaid.org and it was set up by KNP LAW Nagy Koppany Lencs & Partners (who I am not affiliated with). This is all pro bono. Feel free to PM me, especially if you are English qualified!

No you won’t make a fool out of yourself.
You wouldn’t be promoted if your leaders felt you weren’t ready. None of us were born knowing how to do our jobs - we lead along the way.
Talk to a life/career coach to get some help with your self confidence.
Sounds like a confidence issue rather than a skill issue!
Promotions are hard to come by. You don’t promote someone unless they’re already performing at the next level. Think about the promotion as collecting a pay increase for the work you’re already doing.
I would try to evaluate whether or not you've always had self doubt throughout your life. It kind of sounds like maybe this is something bigger than just the job you're in right now. I didn't get over my imposter syndrome until I became self aware that it was something I had had in every position regardless of how "prepared" i was. Once I realized that I saw that it was a mental pattern and I've been able to quiet those fears a lot more.
Here’s what I did when I finally landed my first leadership role and I felt exactly the same.
Read or listen to great books or podcasts. One guy I follow is Simmon Sinek, he’s an awesome servant leader.
If you’re surrounded by more tenured leaders, watch and listen! I vowed to make it look like I had done it for years and the good thing was, everyone thought I had.
Do your own research- you already know good leaders. Find one and see if they will mentor you.
You’re going to be great!!!! Breathe!😎
I know how scared and uncertain it feels to be suddenly thrust into a position you have doubts that you’re qualified for.
Consider asking yourself, “what if they didn’t make a mistake? What if I actually am qualified and worthy? What would things look like in my position if someone ‘qualified’ were doing it? Am I doing those things already?” You are so much more capable than you think!
Talk through it and write down fears. Develop a plan that will help overcome each fear. Mine were always around what I did not know about my new opportunity. I built plans on how I was going to close that knowledge gap. It turned the fears into opportunity. And that’s where you want to get to
OP first of all take a deep breath because you have got this. I have found the best way to overcome imposter syndrome is to do the dang thing. You might not be the best at first but in time you will get better and better at your job. And the better you get the less you have imposter syndrome.
Lol you do know that we can see you authored this post and are now commenting on it? Looks like this isn’t impostor syndrome but split personality disorder.
