That’s tough. You will be fine but she’s holding a super spreader event intentionally. I wouldn’t go.
Love how EY2 and EY4 both flip this on it’s head making the OP the bad person and not being a true friend. That is right out of the playbook for one side of this argument.
It is sad that there are so many people out there who think like this.
Love the comments to end friendship based on the vaccination status.
Lol the vaccine doesnt stop the spread of covid, and these people want to target them for bad values. Lololololol. I would be happy to end my relationship with anyone forcing a vaccine- your IQ levels would be too low for me.
I would drop out and reassess this relationship. Is this the type of person you want to associate with in the future?
If you're still so worried, why did you get the vaccine in the first place?!?

Really? Because we all did what we could to keep people safe. Those that didn’t get vaccinated spread variants that are far worse. Now we have a bigger problem. And they’re still complaining about masks. Get real.
OP- I’d skip the wedding if I were you.
Fwiw - Your friend didn’t have the courtesy to inform you/ others that she isn’t vaccinated. You should however show her the courtesy by telling her why you aren’t able to attend. A true friend would understand (& actually apologise for keeping you in the dark).
If you bailed out of my wedding because of a vaccine, we would definitely never speak again.
Accenture 1 - probably doesn't wear a mask because i HaVe rIgHtS
People actively try to ignore the incredibly high survival rate. If you’re vaccinated you’ve next to nothing to worry about, even if you aren’t vaccinated the odds would be heavily in your favor that you’d be fine.
If i was in your shoes I wouldn’t let this be a determinant in attending. The people in attendance have made an informed decision. Don’t let them disrupt your life.

I think A2 is Laura Ingraham
I just went to a wedding 2 weeks ago but 95% were vaccinated and all others had to provide negative PCR test within 72 hours prior to setting foot at the venue. I don't know if vendors were required to be vaccinated. It was an outdoor wedding with indoor bathrooms. About 200 guests, no masks. I know of two Covid cases that surfaced a couple days after (both vaccinated and the bride & groom notified all guests). I did shake the hand of both these persons. I tested 5 days after (PCR) and was negative as was my spouse. We feel fine and were vaccinated. We don't regret going and felt comfortable the whole time.
Exactly how is wearing a mask and increasing the number of already mandatory vaccines by one going to destroy democracy??
What’s your question?
Read it again, bro.
It’s such a personal decision and is highly dependent on your comfort level. I would pull out, because vaccinations protect 99% of the time, but there’s still a chance to get *really* sick, and an even higher chance of getting *pretty* sick when exposed to unvaccinated people specifically. But so many people in this forum are comfortable with it and that makes sense too, because it’s a low risk and sometimes that risk is worth not upsetting friends and family and I truly understand that. Ultimately its a super gray area and is highly dependent on your risk tolerance.
That’s an evil couple right there. Discuss?
I just don't think I could be friends with anyone who refuses to get vaccinated.
Whether or not you want to pull out of the wedding... Probably depends on how much drama that would cause and if you have the stomach for it.
I think if you are vaccinated you personally will probably be physically safe even if you attend. And if I were you I would probably go and get a repeat vaccination shot right now. People are discussing whether repeat vaccinations are wise and pretty soon everyone will actually be doing it. You may as well get ahead and have a recent shot for peace of mind.
Yes I know that's medical advice that hasn't actually been promoted by the CDC yet but if you're watching the trend...it's coming.
But weddings overall... I went to a lot of weddings... I was in a lot of weddings... Lots of people you can attend their wedding and then you'll never see them again. Your anti-vaxxer friends are probably such a couple.
Why can’t you be friends with someone who is unvaccinated? Why is their health such a concern to you?
I never understood this logic, especially when vaccines don’t stop the spread of COVID and only protect the person who takes it.
I would go and support your friend. While the vaccine is not 100% effective against catching the virus it is nearly 100% effective against serious symptoms. If you're concerned about spreading to others after the event, quarantine yourself if possible.
Go to the wedding
Don’t pull out. Was in a wedding last October. Wore a mask most of the time, except after make up was done until after dinner. Perfectly fine. Just practice safe measures.
I would absolutely not go. Partly out of my own safety. Mostly out of not wanting friends like that.
That would be a hard no for me. I’d re-evaluate this person as a friend, too. I have no patience whatsoever with this crap.
I’m awesome at parties…but I’m tired of the stupid people who keep ruining them.
Whether they get a vaccine or not is 100% up to them and they have the right to choose for themselves. Free world.
BUT you also have the right (maybe even duty?) to protect yourself and your friends/family from becoming exposed to a *potentially deadly* virus, which may mean that pulling out of the wedding is the most appropriate option in the current climate.
It doesn't mean you don't value your friendship or that you're cutting ties, but while the virus is the way it currently is, you need to look out for YOURSELF because nobody else will... as your friends have demonstrated...
As long as you’re vaccinated, I don’t see the issue

Exactly SM5, see Provincetown, people did everything right and had a high vaccination rate yet seeing a spike of break thru cases among vaccinated after crowds. This is not over, it’s worse.

“Just” usually precedes encouragement to ignore reality and take risks that are not reasonable. 21k new cases in Florida today. CDC documents show it is more contagious than chicken pox, breaking thru vaccines and infecting 5-9 people on average, not 2-3.
