Move into what? I was in forensics supporting banks, moved to advisory compliance for banks.

That's more what I'm trying to find out. I feel like I pigeonholed myself early on and don't know what my options are.

Maybe something in the same industry? Also, PwC now has a separate analytics practice, that's another natural transition from forensics. Please explain more about what you've done...

My experience has been somewhat sporadic, mostly somewhat mundane compliance within banking and utilities

Compliance in advisory should be easy, unless you're not interested? Switch firms if you have to. You have a valid reason: want to do something more interesting... Go to cross over events or trainings for other practice groups. In LA, entertainment presents...

CISA type compliance work? Slowly move into IT?

@op. I transferred recently from forensics to MC. Try to get on a project that interests you first regardless the practice then decide where you want to switch to.

Good advice guys, thanks!

What office are you in?

Hi all- My SO is currently at a Big4 & was initially preparing for S&O roles at GCP but given the high number of ex MBB consultants hired, they believe its just more competition to get the offer & to eventually get promoted over time.

Instead, they have decided to pursue program manager or cloud consultant roles, which they feel might have a lower barrier to entry from an assessment standpoint. Not sure if the bowl agrees but would like to get your thoughts, thanks!

I'd appreciate any success stories or pointers you can offer in regards to this transition.
