I’m biased, but think your in-house options will be far superior as a L&E associate than a general lit associate.

What firm’s L&E group is this busy? Currently looking for L&E positions.

Depending on the firm, your partnership prospects may be worse in L&E, but you will likely have more in-house opportunities. I made the switch years ago from general lit to L&E, and I find employment litigation way more interesting.

L&E is a good option for sure, but make sure the group is solid reputation wise and workflow wise.

I got a call from Wipro for the post of Financial Data Analyst.

Thing is they agreed to whatever hike I asked but reviews are really bad in Ambitionbox and Glassdoor. Also as per Glassdoor, the salary for this role is much lower than they're promising. So is it worth to sit for the interviews?

They said they'd schedule the call next week and I want to respond to them before they setup the call and prevent wasting time for both parties.

Wlb is top priority.

how is it that in this day and age recruiters don't have an auto response for when they decide internally to cut you from the interview process...? especially for a referral, the lack of courtesy is something else.

From what I’ve observed, firms could retain associates without matching just by instituting some sort of mandatory vacation. No point in more money if you don’t have time to spend it.

It could even be scheduled in advance at the beginning of the year and based on seniority but firms would just have to take its implementation seriously and not contact you during your time off. Imagine having a mandatory week off every six months.

Are associates who receive high salary bumps also billing at higher hourly rates? If yes, how are clients handling the rate increases? A firm approached me with an offer because I had worked with some partners who recently joined. They said it’s not really a “practice” of the firm to guarantee the bonus and that they want to properly incentivize people to hit hours… but I now have data from current associates and ones who had offers (including recently this past month) who received guarantees — nothing exceptional about their circumstances either.
