Don’t get someone who is not focused in this area. That’d just be paying someone to fill out a legal zoom type form for you, and you’ll regret it.
I agree on the complexity equals different people, but also the client very often really doesn’t understand the complexity of their situation till they go through it with a pro who knows the right questions to ask.
For 90% of situations, this guy who I cannot recommend highly enough.

For the 10% situation where you’re a high net worth individual with complex multi jurisdictional assets and family situation, needing tax and estate planning, etc. Hands down this guy:

I know John Strohmeyer from ABA real property trust & estate leadership. Definitely a good choice.
I’ve known Ed Deery at Ytterberg Deery for probably 30 years. They are a great mid sized T&E firm. https://www.ydklaw.com/

It’s difficult to give you a recommendation since it really depends, to me at least, of your financial and family status. A basic will is pretty simple with the requisite powers of attorney, directives to physicians, etc if it’s just yourself. If you need to set up trusts and guardianships for family members or others, then it gets more complicated, especially if there are lots of assets. Most attorneys that do this type of work will have a questionnaire of this type of questions that you can answer to decide whether you need a simple will, or have to get more complex and need an estate planning lawyer.
