105 after 3 years out of undergrad?with 130k in OC? No wrong choices here
If $130k is a livable salary wherever this is then absolutely
Don’t make it about the money. Your comp at ZS will grow and likely overtake what your comp trajectory will be in that pharma co
If the comp were the same, would you still go? Does this fit with your long term career goals? Will this move help you get to where you ultimately wanna be?
OP salary wise looks like you’re making a good jump. Don’t know much about pharma current situation so can’t comment on that
This offer sounds reasonable. I’d make sure the company and role is right for me and that there is room to grow. Other than that, it sounds awesome. Good luck!
Yea OC California area so not the cheapest but reasonable
OP, manager in what group? Is this Pharma industry? I was just offered a job in OC @ similar salary and am 3 years out of undergrad as well so thought it was kind of funny lol
In a year and a half you could be making quite a bit more as a consultant, and will then outpace the industry job on annual raises + promotions. Or, can go to bschool sponsored and come out making more. But, as far as manager salaries in pharma that’s a very good offer.
40k relocation? So that's like 170k your first year. Take that!!!
@ Huron 1 I think you’re absolutely right in everything. The primary reason I wouldn’t go is relocation but OC isn’t the worst place to be I guess. Thing is I want out of consulting now, I enjoyed it but my minds not in the game anymore and as you mentioned market access is a good area to have experience for the future.
I say go for it Donny.
What’s your current salary OP?
105k, I think a bit low for 3 years? And I’m already burnt out. More wondering if this is a good offer or if I should look for better. Not sure of industry (pharma) standard when leaving.
@ EY1 it’s in pricing and contracting for a mid sized and growing pharma company and I can get involved in other types of projects since price and contracting involve so much of the business. How about you?
Also FWIW, I think market access / P&R is a hot field right now, and pharma and consulting firms are willing to pay top dollar for consultants with experience in this space. So I don’t think you will have trouble finding another role later on if you turn this down (so don’t feel like this is your only chance). My gut sense, and I could be wrong, is that this kind of % bump will always be on the table if you keep building your expertise in this space,
take it
If they gave u 130 on their initial offer, i am 100% sure that can negotiate that up a bit! Sounds like they want u!
