Aim lower and pick something you love to sell and you can rebuild your confidence. Companies are afraid to hire well preserved and experienced folks in sales because you might want too much $$ when they can get a Gen Z for nothing but they do nothing and so it goes. Walk like you have a crown on your head and be the person you once were….you have control of that feeling. If you don’t get an interview then it’s their loss. Just be ready for when the bell rings!
Nice message :)
I'm sorry. That sounds so rough. It can be hard when the people around you are finding success and you aren't. Have you considered branching out to other sales positions that maybe you aren't as qualified for? I know it sounds counter-intuitive but a change of pace could be the answer you need. Maybe your insight could be used in a unique way that you may not have thought of yet. Good luck either way.
I will. I have to keep moving forward with applying regardless.
I appreciate your message 🙏
You know-I’m not going to tell you to keep your head up because an offer is right around the corner. When I run across people in your same scenario, I often think that maybe something is trying to drive you in another direction other than the one you’re pursuing. Obviously, you’re accomplished and gifted. Perhaps, just perhaps you are now supposed to use those gifts for yourself instead of giving them to a company???? Obviously, you’ve made millions for a company. I know this because I’ve made Presidents’ Clubs and so has my husband- multiple times. Companies with those accolades make millions off of people just like you and while benefits, salaries and commissions are high, we work really hard to achieve them.
Why not think in terms of what gifts and skills you have to offer you and go out and make one or two for yourself? Yes, an income in The interim will be needed or some type of monetary sustainability, but gig work is always available while you build.
Just a thought. You’re worth it and more.
In this market apply for anything and everything as it is easier to look for a better job when you have one. Even look out state if you want/are open to moving. I get interviews in which I am under qualified more than over. It is a weird time.
I'll give it a shot! Thanks for the comment!
Maybe try asking the next recruiter why they passed on you it may be helpful for you!
Use your connections
My biggest advice is tone down your resume. Pretend to Have less experience. You may have more luck if you aren't overqualified?
Dont give up.
I’m not trying to be critical but have you had someone that helped you on your resume? I was in one of my bosses office and he had me read a stack of resumes and asked me why would I bring in any of these who has a resume worded this way for a position. Just saying it can’t hurt to have someone go over bullet points etc to get noticed.
Good luck and keep plugging away and have a successful 2024.
I have not. Maybe I've been too confident in my writing skill--- I'll get fresh eyes on it.
Thank you for the advice 🙏
Sorry to hear this. Do you have a LinkedIn profile? You can find recruiters on there as well. They can do the dirty work and find jobs for you that are actively hiring. Best of luck.
Keep pushing and looking. This is the first quarter so hopefully companies budgets will be opening and the will start hiring again. You got this.
Put as many numbers and achievements in your resume as you can, then tell your friends they owe you a referral into their company for working on their resume.

I've asked, but it's as if they dont know what to do despote explaining or they're lazy or one is just simply unsure? It's so weird. Still friends with them, I'll always be nice. But, definitely, I'm seeing a new character development for sure.
I'll take the advice, though! Thank you.
I know what you're going through and I've been thinking about using platforms like Upwork and Fiverr to market my skills and work freelance. It can't hurt while you're looking. I haven't gone down that route yet but there are freelance account management jobs on there. At some point you may want to consider working for yourself. Just a thought.
