Been in inside sales for a year now. I’m looking for a hybrid/fully remote role in DFW (really Fort Worth area) . Looking for a recommendation for a free task management software/system. Due to a shift in personnel, our firm is no longer using a specialized case management software. I’m in my 10th year with my company, have bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and am wondering whether I should even bother negotiating a raise. I currently make about $62k a year and work from home in a large metropolitan area in the Southwestern United States. The Bureau of Labor Statistics says the average tech writing salary in 2020 was closer to $75k; is it unreasonable to ask for that much of an increase? I want to know which looks better (on LinkedIn): showing my growth through the ranks by listing all 4 positions I’ve held (promoted 3 times in the 2 last years but started at the near bottom) OR just show my most recent title? That may create some discrepancy though since I’ve been with the company for 2 years but only held my current role since January. I want to show my growth but also some people may doubt the quality of my work because of where I started... no? Maybe not.
