Hi Fishes
I want to share very bad experience I had at Mastercard
I was given offer by Mastercard in month of Dec The hike was less but looking at brand & other perks I accepted the offer & was looking forward to joining them.I got few offers & I went back to them for sole purpose of renegotiating CTC, to have a industry standard hike. They didn't reverted back for 2-3 days & just dropped a mail that they are revoking initial offer as well on grounds that they didn't like i gave other interview

I think the smartest people take the opportunities that best suit them.
^ I guess you are not one of the smartest..lol
I've literally spent time on LinkedIn looking at profiles of higher ups in companies and even PA partners for the sole purpose of figuring out this very question you're asking. What I've found is that there's no linear path. The whole 'stay til manager" or "stay til senior manager" is a farce according to what I've seen. People take all kinds of different routes to success. Some left PA as a senior and have been very successful. Some have boomeranged. Some have bounced around a lot but have progressed to high success all along the way.
The only real career killer in my opinion is complacency. This is why some industry folks plateau. They quit pushing themselves. But that's not a slight at them. Perhaps they're happy where they are and have made a decision to focus on other things in life.
In short, just always look to grow yourself, keep learning, develop your skills wherever you are, and you'll have a good career.
I like to see what experience CFOs or other high level finance folks have... it's my non-scientific assessment that the 'smartest' ones make manager and leave for a client or other great opportunity and then rise the ranks in industry rather quickly.
Well not everyone is a public account so it doesn't come naturally.
They leave and actually get experience in the things they try to consult about
What is PA?
Ey5 said it best 👏👏👏
The smartest people work for themselves in my opinion
I'm leaving in 2 weeks as a senior 1 going to senior 2
Define "smart". This post is so subjective...
