Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones?

for me it’s always been:
1. my direct manager
2. the company
3. the client
Can see where you’re coming from. I feel it’s easier to escape a shitty client in a good company than make an agency move because the agency is too shitty to allow you to grow on a good client - that has been my experience at least :)
if you love the company and the people you work with, you can always switch brands within the agency!
I’d say manager/company comes first in my experience. Client relationships and client assignments can change on a whim and often times, beyond your control.
What’s your current salary and new offer?

Client is the easiest thing to shift once you’re in, but make a good impression regardless. Because you won’t get the opportunity to move if you aren’t dedicated to what you’re working on.
And who knows, maybe your direct client will be awesome even if the company is boring, and you’ll have the chance to do incredible work together. That happened to me a few times and became some of my favorite pieces of businesses to work on!
