What’s the safest form of money to keep in the bank? Maybe I’m overlooking something, but cash?… what’s the alternative? Crypto?

Cash, gold, crypto, stock, what else ? I'm practicing to keep my extra money in bank and stock market. But seems like gold is another good choice in past few years (I missed the boat).
If you want to build up an emergency fund the safest and easiest thing to do is simply open a savings account. If you have a checking account at a bank you can usually start a savings account with no problem and just start transferring money into it. Most savings accounts aren't earning much interest these days, but if you just want to park money in case you need to access it right away, that's the simplest option.

Interest is too low to balance up inflation. Gold is another good form of keeping our money valuable but I missed the boat in past years.

I'm curious to read the responses to this question. I always wonder what is the best way to invest.

Higher risk bigger returns. I always put like 80-20, 80% to somewhere safer and 20% to risk for something

Diversify! Have some money in cash, some in stocks, some in crypto! Keep your credit cards paid off because they can also be a useful buffer.
