Hey folks
I got a call from TCS to interview for a new unit formed within org with the name of Business Transformation Group as per new org restructuring. Anyone from TCS who can help to understand more about this?
Does it cater to only niche technologies or how does this actually function?

That just means you should not forget any limbs at home.

Awesome! Offer him a Camaro as a company car!
No you’re in the right. If they can’t stop vaping during an interview they won’t stop while working. Hard pass.

I’d be more understanding if it were a long, whimsical opium pipe

I’d be no longer doing remote meetings with them

Weird decision on their part
I think that’s very strange and inappropriate. The most I would do in an interview is take a sip of water.
I’m honestly mind blown right now. That comes off as so unprofessional.

I’m with you OP. There is a murky line between what’s professional and what’s not in this industry, but even hearing about that leaves me with a feeling that it was exceedingly unprofessional of that candidate. Not sure I would have kept myself from saying something had I been in your shoes. Probably just an awkward joke, but wow.
Okay as a former smoker and current vapour, it’s a no from me. Just like eating during an interview, remote or in person, it’s inappropriate. That being said, working from home my vape addition is out of control - I vape all the time during stressful meetings when I’m off camera to help with anxiety. But I would never do it on camera let alone during an interview.
Totally hear you and agree vape isn’t really a long term solution and the goal is to be smoke free entirely. Just not ready to quit it yet. It’s more of an anxiety thing than a nicotine craving at this point.
Did they do any vape tricks?
Is vaping on a remote Zoom call really going to be your dealbreaker? I think you’re making a mountain out of a molehill. Stick to whether this person is a good hire.
Yeah that’s a hard no.
I had two clients vape during a meeting. They’re based in Europe, and they’re more relaxed/backwards about smoking. Still, it was so weird.

They weren’t vaping. 🌿
Wait until your agency leadership starts vaping in your 1:1s…
At Swift … YES!

We once had an intern do it in our office on his first day. We were all just looking at each other dumbfounded. HR had to talk with him.

Not ok. Act like you want the job! Like don’t bite your nails, burp, chew gum during important meetings (or at least try not to).
Was this a video interview or in person?
Vaping, smoking a cig, eating... it's all the same. Rude

This happened to me with an old boss! J thought it was weird and they were 10+ years older than me.
Strategy lead?
This is SO weird
