Based on your conversations with leadership so far, what’s the one strength of the team that’s been identified and what’s the one weakness? How would you go about addressing each?
If you had to stack rank the following skills in terms of important to least important based on conversations with agency leadership so far how would you do it? Make sure to caveat that you know these things aren’t mutually exclusive, but want to hear how they prioritize effort
- creating culture for great creative work
- building client relationships
- managing team dynamics
- setting a strategic vision
Based on what you see the biggest need is (ie creating an environment for good work to be created or building team culture or selling to touch clients, etc) ask them to give you an example of when this has been most difficult? What was situation? How did they approach? What was outcome?
Say, I know you’ve been in my shoes earlier in your career. Tell me about a time when a new leader came on and had an impact on your world that was positive/inspiring? What was it? What did it change? How do you or do you apply that to your current approach? Ask for example.
What’s the best decision you helped a client make in the last year? What was the situation? What role did you play? What do you wish you could have differently looking back?
Describe the last time you convinced/tried to convince your agency to do something they didn’t want to do regarding career development (invest hire, promote off cycle, etc)? What was it? Why did you fight for it?
