Definitely! I live and make a similar living in Nashville. Would recommend a suburb 30 min outside of Nashville which is more affordable. Only thing to be careful of is rent rates go up and down drastically depending on what time of the year you move here. And they can increase from one year to another depending on housing market.
Nope! It’s full. Adjust to the lifestyle here. We don’t drive all crazy lol
Yes. Caveat, you can’t buy a home in Nashville w just $70k income, I echo the other commenters who said you’ll have to move abt 30mins outside to a suburb. If you don’t mind renting, you can find some good prices in good neighborhoods, particularly west Nashville. But yea overall cost of living isn’t bad and that salary w no kids is find. And TN doesn’t have a state income tax!
Just note- Nashville has the highest Sales tax in the U.S. So you'll be saving money on state income tax, but expect to see all other purchases to be inflated.
Yes unless you live well above your means. Should be fine. Last I looked average $$ per year in Nashville is like 35-40k. Not sure about neighborhood recommendations but I'm sure someone will have some.
Absolutely. You might not live an extremely lavish lifestyle, but that is enough to rent an apartment without roommates and to enjoy the city by eating out and shopping.
Depends on how many dates you go on and how often you go out. Can add up quick!
I'm willing to pinch a few pennies and eat at home if I can find an affordable apartment!
You can afford a place here but may be good to try to room with one of your friends here or find a roommate if you want to be able to go out/do stuff more often
Yes it is enough for a Nashville
Nope need add at least one more 0
Do you plan on putting away some for your 401k? That would paint a better picture as to how much you’d have left to live comfortably.
Living in Nashville isn't cheap but a lot depends on the area you decide on. 70k will allow you to make but you might might not go out like you really want.
Probably would be hard if you want the benefits of living in the city of Nashville. Your net income is probably $50k or $4kish/month. Decent apartment in Nashville proper is $2k, which is way above what you should be spending on housing especially a rental. Definitely cheaper than SF but not a good entry level city anymore. Not to mention that you can't get by without a car here.
Yes it's enough
