Who is “they”? FB? Anyways I’m a commercial practitioner in the DC area and have only had good experiences the past 3 years. Yes it’s intense at times but t really helps you step up your game
It varies and will depend on what project you are working on. But my experience is that even though they offer a lot of PTO I only once took a week vacation - and I was on two conference calls during that week too.
‘They?'
@Op: I feel valued by my team. I feel valued by leadership. Everyone has been so kind in answering questions and explaining things. Of course this is just my experience. Everyone’s will be different. It has certainly been a better onboarding experience than Accenture
Just like at any large firm, experiences will vary. I liked my time at Deloitte
Idk who said d fed is a lot of work, but they're probably lying or on a much different project than the two I've been on. Most of the time in my nearly 2 years here has been spent asking for more work (without getting much) bc I'm so bored of sitting and surfing the web. Maybe I'm just super efficient 💁🏻
FWIW, I’ve been working long term federal projects for years, with no travel and 40-45 hour weeks.
Loved my time there. Hate my time at PwC though.
The proverbial they. Namely the people who say it’s bad that I’ve spoken to as well as general they on the internet
Everyone will have a different experience. It is a lot of hard work and a lot of hours but I much happier than I was at a previous firm
How so?
It’s all relative. My opinion from the proverbial they is Deloitte has pretty good work life balance
Do you mind sharing what happened at Accenture?
@OP: there were many reasons I was not satisfied at Accenture. My leadership and the regional model were chief amongst my complaints
Thanks for your insight, all. I figured it was just hype/spite but I wanted to make sure.
Honestly I’m fine with it... it’s a decent work life balance and I like the teams I work with and manage
It sucks. Toxic af.
