As a experienced hire SC (1 month in), aside from building a network blah blah blah. Is doing firm work going to benefit my year end review in any way? I’m billing 45hrs to my client weekly and I hear utilization doesn’t matter first year. Don’t want to waste my time on firm work if it doesn’t benefit me yet. Thoughts?
How fucked am I as a first year BA who will have 60% utilization at year end? Instant 4?
Someone explain to me how this works: if I have really good snapshots with performance differentiators for almost every snapshot I have, but my utilization is below the goal for my level. I’m asking..
How lenient are you with billing? Just saw a presentation showing the average utilization was over 95% at my mid sized consultancy and I swear I know so many people that barely have work. Like literally during the staffing calls everyone says they’re only 50% billable and are looking to take on more work.
for federal projects that cap you at 40/week, do the leadership ever take this into account how it effects your utilization?
My utilization is 90% but all of my clients are small jobs. Does that look worse than someone who works on the larger, higher revenue generating jobs with all else equal (utilization/performance)?
How hard should you actually work in consulting? Obviously we have utilization requirements so we work long hours but I’m tired of giving 100% of my brain power. Is there any benefit of working harder? IMO there’s an incentive to work slower
Ever since Risk Assurance busy season ended, I feel like I’ve been kind of coasting. I’m still getting all my work done but my utilization is slipping. With CRTs coming up, how worried should I be?
What's good utilization ? Just started and fretting on low utilization but I think meeting the target of 85% would be doable. Is the average of Staff/ Seniors above 100?
Quick question, YE conversations are in the 3rd week of July for me, 85% is the utilization target and I'll be at or just above 84% by the time the conversations happen. Do you think it'll be held
Utilization above 80%, $1M managed revenue and now $700k sales credit @ 1/2 year. Bringing my A game in '17!
What do you think it takes for a PPD to get a utilization bearing WBS for proposal work? I know it is rare...
How do you teach yourself to care less? I am always stressed and over worked while other seniors on my team are 50% utilized don't care and still get promoted. I also want to have the idc attitude..
How do I say to my counselor, "be prepared to see a big fall of my utilization because of things out of my control" without sounding like complaining or having a lot of negativity?
I noticed today that my utilization on ToD plunged even though I continue to be staffed? Anyone experience the same?
It just occurred to me that it is an option in life to have a job that does not have a utilization metric. Not sure I can fully fathom that in this exact moment.
People who have had confidence knocks: how did you get it back? I was laid off, 6M out of work, had therapy, now freelancing but I’m slow af. It’s like my brain only works in 2nd gear now.

If anyone is looking for a job working in RSM's tax financial services group that has experience in either Private Equity, Hedge Funds, or Venture Capital space send me a message. Please have a resume for me to review and then I can get you setup for an interview. I am based on Los Angeles, but I am not concerned about location, as we need people in this space all throughout the firm. I spent 13 years with the big four before making the move and it was the best decision I have made.
Worked as a senior consultant in the rpa space at a startup and currently a senior rpa engineer in industry. I feel ready and would love a more leadership role. What kind of roles should I look for or what kind of technologies should I transition to to progress my career? I am really bored at my current job. Don’t feel challenged at all
Self 25F and spouse 31M - no kid yet but planning to in the near term. Just got quoted for life insurance $70 and $100/ month for each 2M coverage. Is the quote reasonable?
For those of you who are successful in your interview process and landed on an offer, did you feel like you ace every question they asked in in the interview and articulate perfectly? I’m a bit nervous now Bc I felt like I could have spoken better 😭😭😭😭
Is there a timeframe for how long you have to stay at EY after receiving the promo bonus in order to retain the whole amount?
Just started at a Family Law firm and am low on work (came from another state so didn't bring my clients with me). It has been a while since I started fresh. I make a decent base salary but I need those billable hours to make more. How long does it take to be busy again!? I've joined an expanding firm and the lead attorney is helping me by giving me tasks to do. Just not as busy as I'm used to (this will be my 3rd week). Just need a pep talk I think 😊
I was contacted by a Facebook recruiter for a Data Scientist interview, but I'm not ready to take a new job right now. Should I take the interview for the practice or would that look bad if I want to seriously apply next year?
How did you manage gmat w/ >14 hrs of client work + practice dev (internal firm)? How long did it take you to get that >90 percentile? Any tips on studying for gmat consistently?
I’m talking with a recruiter and she is saying the base is $150,000 with $175K in equity. I have never worked in Private so I’m not exactly sure what that means. I am assume if it’s a 4 year vest my annual total comp would be approximately $190K ish?
How to ask a startup to share their books with you. Being courted for Manager of S&O role, but don't want to be walking into a sinking ship.
Anyone attended Coderpad interview in Capgemini ? What and all it consists of ? Role : Automation testing YOE : 4.5 years Please give a suggestion if you have attended. TIA
Going to be ~5 nights short to maintain Marriott/SPG platinum status. Any options? Already have the Amex card. Thanks!
Howdy fish, currently interviewing at KPMG for a associate role in major projects advisory. I’ve gone through the phone screening and the interview with 2 directors. Next interview is with 2 SM. What kind of questions can I expect in that interview?
What accounting/industry firms (Big 4 and otherwise) offer seasonal positions for experienced professionals? At PwC we have the "flexible talent network" for people to work 3-6 months a year.
Trying to decide between Capgemeni and Deloitte - same level, both human capital consulting. The differences are comp and benefits - Capgemeni is 15% more in comp but half of Deloitte’s PTO days.
