I have an initial recruiter phone interview with Square Thursday. Is it it just a phone call or is it a video call and they didn’t specify. If it’s a video call what’s the dress code like? I’m coming from consulting so all my interviews were in suits. Any tips to get past the recruiter phone screen?
Hedge fund or VC route?
My fiancé got approached for a Sales Executive Role at Instacart. Anyone have any insight into the company, job security, culture etc? They mentioned 100k base, 40-60% variable comp and an undisclosed equity grant. She’s already making 130k in a very secure job, so we are thinking no, but want to do our homework first.

So in my experience, Google Meets uses a lot of bandwidth and 9 out of 10 times, something goes wrong so they’re probably hedging for that.
But, you’re right, it should just be a phone call
Better audio, might be easier workflow for them to record as well

I sometimes turn off my video to conserve bandwidth. Other times I turn it off so I don't distract you as I drink water or eat a snack
Pretty common. We do it for Zoom as well.
Main reason for doing it over Zoom/Meets vs phone call is so you can track that the call actually happened.
