Do you always need an MBA to get into MBB?
A BCG recruiter ghosted me after she reached out to schedule an interview. How long should I wait before following up? What is the common courtesy to give to ppl at BCG. I don’t wanna come off as too aggressive but I really need to get this interview set as there are other pending confirmations Boston Consulting Group

McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.

It's certainly not impossible.
My POV: don't make big decisions like this on how it'll affect MBB applications. They are great employers, but so are B4/T2. And frankly, MBB won't make family/home life very easy.
Only a tiny share of MBB hires make it to partner anyway, so your ultimate career home will probably be somewhere else. Think about what that somewhere else looks like and consider other paths to get there. Strong Big4 experience with a solid MBA sounds like a great start to me.
Thanks for this perspective! Yeah, I don’t plan to make partner but to pivot to a top strategy role in house at a media/tech firm. Hopefully big4 is still a big sell on that
No. I have seen it happen. Quite rare though.
Go to LinkedIn, type "MBA" in the search bar, then filter by current companies "enter MBB' and past companies "big4" and you can see those who made it

Why not just apply directly to mbb now and skip mba?
MBB is on an unprecedented hiring spree right now and greatly expanded applicant pool, so not having an MBA won’t be a barrier in this market, consulting experience is good enough.
I would try to get some referrals now to go directly unless you want an mba for the experience and network.
Not impossible but difficult
