Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?
I got a call from the Google recruiter about my L7 em interview Google She said I did overwhelmingly good on all interviews except one had mixed feedback on a system design. No surprise because it was not a good interview. The recruiter said i had a choice to go to hiring committee, give referrals they could call about my system design or take another system design interview. I’m not confident about the system design because of the bad experience I had with the previous interviewer. What should I do?

Welcome to Job hunting 2025. Other service we offer are robotic rejections and ghosting. If there is anything else we can do to help, rest assured we won't do it.
Facts
Yeah, it's pretty demoralizing. I have seen it from the inside as well.. At my last position, we had an opening for 6 months.. Everytime and applicant was pushed through, suddenly the position need was removed by HR or Payroll. That applicant just disappears. Then within 10 days, the job is reposted. I found out a lot of times this is done because there is an internal employee that is being prepared or pressured to apply for the position.. If they can't make it past the requirements, or can't get a department release from their director, they are disqualified..
The truth is they were just pushing the workload onto the rest of the team, and had no intention of filing the position. The further truth is that once we past the performance appraisal phase, they just removed the position completely.
Large companies have no incentive to hire.. only to cut cost by cutting Employee's.. They can outsource other companies to handle the workload, and not have to deal with the cost of employees on the bottom line.
If they pay a 3rd party to cover the work, it stops being their problem, they can strongarm the 3rd party company with failure to meet deadlines, obligations, or the unrealistic KPI goals they set.. Then they can renegotiate the contract or claw back payment..
Customer service or the clients are of little regard it seems. Almost like they have accepted that they have reached market saturation and the only way to keep making money is through asset acquisition and cutting expenses. They are becoming nothing more than venture capitalist pecking at the dying body of their own firm...
It's sad and not sustainable, but as long as customers accept it as the cost of doing business it will not change..

Definitely not just you - this “reposting cycle” seems to be a sign of how overloaded hiring teams are right now. High volume of applicants, slow processes, and maybe unclear role requirements all play a part. It’s frustrating for candidates and companies alike!
This has been going on for years
No it's not just you. There is something going on .
That has been going on for awhile now 😕 The worst ones are from .ai's that just want people to test their AI interview Bot!
Yeahs there’s this one job and I can never apply to it but it’s always on a job board like indeed
