Apply for full time jobs. BA roles are entry level. Don't waste your time on internships
Why not just work until you have another offer in hand?
I would recommend working until you find something. Who knows how long it would take to find what you are looking for and employment gaps never look good
Only weird if you make it weird.
BA business analyst? Uhhh I’m sure your firm has plenty roles for that
I guess my main worry would be how it would look to recruiters quitting a full time gig and work as an intern in another role while searching for a job.
Is the internship with a much better company or dream company?
Don't have one yet, just thought of the possibility of it for now and will begin searching. Not sure if it would be a dream company since I'm not sure I have one, but I would be looking for a role or field I'm more interested in pursuing for my future career.
So it’s a complete career change with no related skill set?
Just trying to gauge why you are aiming for an internship. I think it’s fine as long as you have the right reasons and aren’t selling yourself short
Well i studied MIS in school and would like to move into a BA role over consulting, not a complete career switch but hoping to leave consulting and Big 4 in general
I think if it’s a complete career change and/or dream company you couldn’t get your foot in the door otherwise an internship makes sense
Definitely do not want to sell myself short either, lots of BA roles I've been seeing want years of experience as a BA, so i was thinking of possibly looking for a related internship while job searching to have some experience and either possibly stay at that company full time or have a bit of BA experience while interviewing.
For that, I think you could just get a full time job. How much work experience do you have?
Only about 2 years unfortunately, not sure if that's experienced enough to be able to switch to a BA role from consulting
Id like to leave Big 4, just want something with more balance in my life.
Op what is your job now?
I'm currently working in M&A
Just don't want to be wasting my time in between jobs if i decide to leave in a month or two and don't have a full time gig lined up, i guess. I could definitely spend that time studying for proper certifications too but thought an internship might be a good use of time, as well. Thoughts on that?
Feel like the work I'm doing now isn't providing me any experience i can transfer into a BA role anyway and it's not something i want to be doing for long. Maybe spending my time on more applicable things would be wiser? This is me just speaking out loud so if that's totally incorrect feel free to let me know
