Any junior roles opening up in chi town?
I was contacted by an Amazon recruiter for a remote Sr. Program Manager role. I took and passed the assessment and was moved to the hiring manager round which was scheduled for tomorrow. I got an email tonight saying that the Director of the group decided that the person must be in Seattle. I am in Austin, which is not an option. I’m disappointed! The recruiter will let me know if any remote roles come up but in the mean time, does anyone have any remote Amazon roles that they’d refer me to?

If in the job description the role sounded more social focused but upon interviewing and learning more about the position you feel that digital strategist makes more sense, that’s a strong case. If you’re just trying to better position yourself for the future that could be a hard sell
Frankly "digital" or "social" strategist both sound dated. If you're a strategist you better be able to strategize for social and digital regardless of your title. What you should be saying is that you're afraid the agency is creating silos where none should exist. 🤷
Giving a community manager a social strategist title is a bit of a stretch as is.
Digital strategist implies deep understanding of whole digital ecosystem, beyond just a brand’s social channels (email, website, digital display, search/SEO, programmatic, mobile apps, etc). Be able to design a digital journey, set and measure KPIs, etc. Different skill set than a social strategist
Smart move, btw.
If you have the offer already I would think that’s the time to negotiate title. If you accept the offer you accept the title.
I would wait on the offer
I'm torn between whether you should have brought that up before or after the offer. I can see pros/cons to each. Where are you in the process right now?
A lot of semantic arguement here... The question that you and your potential new boss should ask is, what title will make people most likely to respond to your phone calls or email?
