As a result of #metoo, it was revealed that now a lot of male supervisors and councillors are refusing to train/guide their female juniors. Most of them don't want the hassle of being accused of sexual harassment.

Advice needed - boyfriend has almost 3.5 years of finance experience at a bank. Interviewed for PwC valuation senior associate and now recruiter says they want to hire him at “experienced associate” because he has no valuation experience. Is this too big of a step backwards in career? Should he push back and see if it gets him anywhere? If he does accept Associate, is it reasonable to ask for written, definitive timeline (1 year?) for promo to Senior upon meeting standards? Help!

So you didnt make associate 2 after 1 year? Try harder.
Hmmm I think it depends where you work. But if they kept you I do not think it means you will be fired. Did they explain why? So if you work at big 4 it's typically standard to get promoted after first year to staff 2, but if you work at mid tier it may not be. Can you provide more context.
They say I need get more exposure and cover more accounts to be a L3
What is L3? So you did not get promoted from staff 1 to 2? Just trying to make sure I understand
L3is experienced associate, L2 is associate
Well it's their fault they didn't give u the exposure. Did they promote others? Seems they are BS
Also it should usually be aL1,2 and then senior I guess diff structure theb
Yeah you think so? So why thy don't just fire me? They didn't promote all the ppl, and they did fire ppl too
Typically what I have seen is just staff 1 and then staff 2. After that senior. Although idk which company you work at so perhaps the structure is different. That's typically how they do it @ the big 4. So sounds like not everyone got promoted and some got let go and some didn't. If they didn't fire you, and they fired others then you are good to go. But, I also think it's not fair to you from a career standpoint and when you try to switch people might wonder why you were a staff for 3 years. Just my thought. I feel like they are kind of cheating you. Anyone else who can chime in here??
