Is there an award for working with clients that grind any good idea to average work, but they end up happy with it in the end and keep paying us money? Because I feel like most of us could submit a case study. And I feel like most of our careers are like this.

Hello hive mind. I am currently interviewing with three agencies. Pretty far along with two of them. One of the positions is a Jr. copywriter position while the other two are just for a copywriter. How important would it be to not have the “Jr” before the title? Personally, I don’t care about the title, but wonder about future employer’s?

Today, I received an invite for a coffee chat with a consultant. I’m of course going to do both, but the emails make it seem like they are almost two separate paths/disconnected processes. I just started a new job 2 months ago, benefits and PTO don’t start until 90 days in so I still have a month before I can take off any time, and today found out my company doesn’t offer paid maternity leave.
I’m really struggling handling the symptoms and maintaining my full time job. Thinking about looking for a part time job to have more time to myself through the pregnancy since I won’t be getting a paid leave anyways, but lost on where to start looking. Any recommendations?

Which agencies are going through layoffs

My agency just opened a CD position. A position that I think I actually should be promoted to. So I’m thinking of applying.

If you are about to give your two weeks notice but you still have vacation days remaining, is it weird to ask to use it during these two weeks? I don’t want to do anything that feels weird. But also don’t want to lose my vacation days. Can you advise?

Can someone explain how billable hours work? At a new agency and although I had to fill timesheets at my previous agencies, they were mainly used to ensure we weren’t over servicing a client/for setting the appropriate retainer for contract renewals. I asked ppl at my agency but haven’t gotten a proper explanation. I get the impression that billing to the agency admin code isn’t recommended, and my manager said he bills everything to client codes, but that doesn’t make sense to me .

Dumb question.. what’s the proper etiquette for when you get a job through a recruiter who reached out to you first? A simple thank you email, a Starbucks gift card, etc?
