It's so weird to get emails about new hires when we have layoffs. I get life goes on but it seems...weird!

I have a meeting with my manager and the title of the invite is "Career discussion". Today, I tried asking if it was my feedback review. He just said "it's a much higher level discussion". Me fired?

Anyone else hear about layoffs coming for S& people with low bill-ability? Heard this from a PwCer...any specific industry or region targets?
