I thought the same thing till i switched to the plaintiffs side. I really cant imagine doing anything else other than being a ski instructor with a trust fund.
If you want easy, work with the stress of deadlines, with the exception of one statute of limitations deadline, Plaintiff’s pre-litigation positions are easy, but not potentially for much money. All the big money is in litigation unfortunately.
What attracted you to law in the first place? Are there any parts of law that you do enjoy? Try to pinpoint what part motivates you and what part drains you. Maybe you would prefer a transactional practice, or something in public service.
If you are tech and business-minded, legal operations is a great living and a good way to use your law degree. You could also go into the ediscovery side of things. Or try out could go into local government or legal recruiting.
I don't hate it but it's not my dream job. Leaves a lot to be desired, i.e. not sitting on your butt 10-12 hrs. straight on a regular basis and doing something that actually helps people in need... It's the money that's hard to leave, not sure what else I could do and earn the same or similar.
