I’ve been in education for 17 yrs from classroom teacher to instructional lit coach. As a mom I need more flexibility and either hybrid or remote.
I’m wondering if anyone has successfully transitioned out of education into consulting or coaching roles.
• What kind of consulting do you do?
• Are there companies that value instructional coaching or leadership experience?

I see a lot of open roles - managers, senior strategists etc. I have a top 20 MBA and about 8 years of big 4 experience in consulting - would this be the right kind of role to get into? Or is it more engineering?

I would like to hit fire between 40-50. Currently 27, 185k total comp (125 for me and 60 for partner). Like my job don’t hate it don’t love it. Does an MBA make sense? I’m guessing it could take me to 170ish with that schools I’m looking at but wondering if the 40-50 retirement range makes an mba not make sense since I’d only have 10-20 years to save vs 12-22.

Would have to finance the whole thing myself. Current net worth is 140k. Thoughts?

What are M7 MBB recruiting timelines ? Considering applying right now to MBB, but if I get rejected I’m going to do an MBA, will I be blacklisted from applying for summer internships if I get rejected this fall ?

Would love some insight on how you went from an HR assistant/coordinator to an HR Generalist. I’ve been in the HR world for 8 years, and only in the last 2-3 have I really done real HR work. The first company I was at didn’t have a solid HR team so I don’t really count that. I feel like I’m ready to take on more responsibility and learn more. And of course make more money.

I have looked into getting SHRM certification. But should I go back to school and get my masters in Hr?

Reviewing a salary offer for a Benefits Manager position in Greensboro, NC industry is retail. Offer made of $95k with 18% bonus. I have 16 YOE, degree in Business, and PHR and Shrm certification. Potential employer has 10k plus employees. I will have two reports and will report directly to the Director of Total Rewards. Any thoughts or advise on offer made? Please help! I’m a CRC who manages Investigator- led clinical research projects and I want to transition to a PM role in industry (I would slightly prefer not a PM role in clinical trials since I don’t have clinical trial experience.) M/SM and above, why do you label a meeting as “touch point” or ask if you can have a “quick chat” when it’s something serious? Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title. But at my new job, my boss asked for a “quick chat” to literally ask me to change the title of a meeting and then chat about christmas. Now that I’m in management, I want to understand it better.

My neighbor is an air traffic controler and makes over 100k at 23 with an associates degree. They also get a pension and a mandatory retirement age of 56. Are there other gov jobs that are this cushy?

Losing motivation and drive as time goes on , and I’m only 27 . Nothing I’m passionate about and money just seems like it’s ever enough ($160k total comp) . I was lucky enough to be making that much at McK while solving social problems within education , Econ dev , and public health
