I’ve been in the marketing and media production field right now, and like a ton of people in the industry it has gotten very hard lately. Considering hanging it up and going into a blue collar field. Looking at possibly union electrician. I’m young enough still that I can learn and I have a family to support that I think would benefit in the long run. Anyone else made a move like this?

That is a solid career choice if it will make you happy. In the end you have to wake up every day and do the job.

Absolutely 💯 if my nephews hadn't gone military, I would have suggested electrical or HVAC.

That sounds like a great pivot. Of course do your due diligence for future job prospects, but it's good you are both young and fit enough to choose this route.

While most teachers are protected by teacher unions, I feel my voice hasn’t been heard at all with my concerns of going back to school next week. Our diocese has decided on full return 5 days/ week for all 42 schools despite a recent increase in COVID in our communities. Every other school that I know of in my state is either choosing remote learning to start the year or a hybrid approach, yet that was not an option for us. Are other Catholic schools I. The same boat? Stay safe!

Additional Posts in Career Pivot

Leaving my current job for a career pivot. Current job has been challenging to say the least and senior management never hears what others have to say. Employment is an at will state.
Senior leadership is so unforgiving that I fear by giving notice, I’ll be asked to leave and lose out on two weeks pay.
Thoughts and feedback on not giving notice or reducing the typical two weeks?
Thank you!
