I’ve been trying to get into the top tier Associate Product Marketing Manager position Google for some time now for just an interview and I feel like business majors somehow have such a stronger chance in getting interviewed especially my business school and I feel really discouraged as an Econ Major and I have a lot of marketing experience that I’ve built over the years. Are there any non-business majors in the tech realm in non technical positions at Google that can advise me?

...your friends are just ignoring their loans? I didn’t know people did that. Anyways, you won’t go to jail for not paying back your loans. I don’t see any reason why you wouldn’t want to pay them back though. Sounds like you will be able to if you have great credit.
As someone who is completely buried in six-figure student loan debt with 6-7% interest rates, I highly recommend that everyone avoid it. If you can’t afford it on your own, don’t do it.

Unless your career path absolutely requires it and you are going to a top tier school (like to be a dr or a lawyer), I would not do it. Most jobs in the corporate world can be done without a master’s degree. You also lose time in the workforce earning money, getting raises, contributing to retirement, etc.
But what else are you supposed to do when you want to transfer from a job like finance to hr or corporate communications? So hard to break in
I would do a lot of research about job placement from the master’s program. And find out if most graduates already work in the field and are just getting a master’s or are they new to the field and getting hired at Manager or higher level jobs.
I’m heading back to study for a PhD.
I’ve been using COVID time to re-familiarize myself with academia, and am loving every second.
I highly recommend taking the plunge.
