I take it as a supplement everyday. Some of my skincare products have it in them too
So both? Which supplement do you take, and which skincare products do you use?
Few studies compare the effects of applying collagen topically versus orally, but experts concur that if you choose to use collagen in your skincare regimen, taking an oral supplement is the best option.
I’ve taken it as a supplement (pill form with powder inside) and as a powder in coffee and find the pills to be way more effective. I use the kind with every type of collagen since I needed help with my joints as well. My hair and skin are great and knees have never felt better. I also use moisturizers containing collagen
Honestly the hair and nail growth almost immediately (facial hair too unfortunately 😆)
Collagen is not just good for the skin but for the hair and nails too. I started drinking Collagen for 6 months now and my nails really thickened so is my hair.
Not a scientist, but I'm pretty sure you'd be able to absorb collagen better when you take it orally than through your skin. You'll be able to see and feel the effects faster.
From what I've read, hydrolyzed collagen peptides are already broken down into the peptides that your body uses for building collagen, so it isn't broken down further and can be used for that purpose. Studies seem to show that consumption of these peptides has noticeable effect on reduction of wrinkles and skin elasticity. Hope this helps!
Yes, that is accurate. I own a skincare company and have done significant research. The molecules in skincare creams are too large to be absorbed to be effective. Hydrolized collagen peptides ingested is the way to go!
It would be much better to take collagen supplements since your skin won't be the only part of you benefitting from it. It's also great for strengthening your hair as well as your nails and bones.
You would have better chances with collagen powder/pills. Even though collagen is typically safe, you should always consult your physician before introducing a supplement to your diet.
Topical collagen is purely cosmetic. So it works only on the outermost layer and does not penetrate deep into the skin. Oral collagen, on the other hand, it refills the lacking nutrient supply in your body.
Oral collagen, for sure. I really don't believe in the topical collagen hype that much, to be honest.
I have been taking collagen powdered drinks everyday for 2 months. Happy that I came across this product! My skin has never looked this healthy.
A coworker gave me a bottle of Doctor's Best Pure Collagen Type 1 and Type 3 powder and I tried it. I think it's been a little over 3 weeks now. I must say, my complexion really improved!
Initally took oral collagen to solve my hairfall and nail problems. But I'm really glad it also helped my skin look healthy and glowing.
Yes. Personally, I prefer taking collagen supplements. I don't have a healthy diet so taking supplements is the best way for me to get my collagen intake.
I haven't tried taking collagen supplements. As of now, some of my skincare products has it as ingredients. I also buy smoothies sometimes.
My moisturizer has collagen! Snail essence and collagen are really effective in moisturizing our skin. It keeps my skin supple!
Personally for me they do not work :( any time I’ve taken any sort of collagen supplement I break out. Most recently I started breaking out a decent amount and nothing had changed in my routine. But I did start a new multivitamin a couple months ago and it did have collagen, I’ve stopped taking it and my acne is calming down.
