Yes because the teams later say the person they hired wasn't a "fit" and we have to go through PIP, or fire someone... not to mention team membres' time lost onboarding and training the new member... but in the end, hiring manager's call and all we can do is advocate with data to show the impact to the business and team members

I completely agree. I’ve seen postings for projects lasting only 3 months which I know takes much longer from doing the same project at other companies.

Absolutely. Hiring out of desperation results in a bad hire 99.9999999% of the time. A vacancy is ALWAYS, without exception, worse than a bad hire.

I have seen rushed hires create more work later. Fixing a bad hire takes longer than hiring properly. I would push back on unrealistic timelines where possible.
