I’ve definitely received replies and also given replies to people I’ve interviewed and liked. I try to make the thank you notes personalized and entertaining so they don’t feel like a template.
You never know when you’ll see these candidates again. Plus you don’t always have the final say as to whether they get the offer so it’s a good opportunity to spread some goodwill if you liked them.
I’ve gotten a few here and there. Maybe 20% of the time. It’s always puzzled me why people don’t just reply, especially if you liked me and want to make an offer.

Yes, it’s like a code that must be followed, which is weird if the employer wants to shortlist a candidate but feels it must ‘micro-ghost’ because, well, that’s just how it’s done.
I think I have once, but ended up not getting the job anyway 🥴
Ive definitely gotten responses to thank you notes, but usually from CDs i interview with and occasionally a recruiter, but VERY rarely, especially if its an active interview process. Never from gcds+ though

I did once or twice, but I definitely didn’t get those jobs
The couple times I have gotten a reply, it was because I was getting an offer. I think they are more likely to respond if you are moving onto the next round/they want to make an offer to you otherwise company policy is usually to ghost until they send the "We selected other people" message.
I get responses from recruiters if they want move forward with next steps. With creatives CDs it’s 50/50 depending on if there’s next steps from them

So, if they want to move you into the next round, how long after the thank you email do they usually tell you? 1 week?
When I was an EA/applying for EA roles I rarely got a reply unless I flat out smashed it. Since moving into production I get a reply to my thank you notes more often than not.
