Wow. McKinsey, which has the biggest public sector presence of the MBB, really hasn't been doing too hot at all in the sector.
Its presence is tiny and it's gotten even smaller. Meanwhile it's bungling whatever opportunities it's getting.

As long as you look polished with your Italian shoes and parted hair, they should send you an offer right away. You don't even have to interview, just send them your latest insta picture.
Not only is Deloitte giving advice on something unrelated to their firm, they couldn't even finish their bad advice!
^ Look, an unoriginal comment from Accenture!
I went to bschool to make the move.
When the troll gets trolled. Sigh, I will go hide back under my bridge now.
^ Fail. And you're also not contributing anything to this thread. Quite ironic...
Badges are not compatible. They have offices in the same building in some locations. Maybe you can try there.
OP, your best bet is to research folks who have made the leap and match their path. Most people agree that the classic route starts with an MBA from a top 5 to top 10 school.
I'm sure some MBB folks can add more. 🙂
Thanks D1! Couldn't track down a lot of folks on LinkedIn though. Have you seen many?
OP, similar threads were made in the past where some ex-Big 4 folks talked about their transition into MBB. From what I recall, a lot of them did it post-MBA from a top school.
I guess it depends, why do you want to make the switch? Is it to do something specific or just for the prestige/exit opps? If the later, your best bet is a top5 Bschool... or a PhD.
Mckinsey digital seems to be hiring
Another vote for B-school. That's how I did it.
Work is different. I was doing FS PI and now purely a generalist. Client maps are at a higher level. From a culture perspective, there's a much deeper investment in professional development across the board. Sure, I had my promoters at Big 4, but there's a more frequent and in depth touch. Additionally, caliber of co-workers (analyst up to partner) is more consistently top notch. Other small perks. All in all, a better consulting experience for me. That's not to say my friends who stayed at Big 4 aren't kicking ass and loving it. I just did not and that's why I wanted to move.
B1, or you can share some insights on how to make it from a Big 4 to Bain! I have some friends there and they only say good things about the culture 🙂
Thanks BCG2.
BCG2 and B2 Was the move worth the effort you put in? What are the big changes you've seen?
