Faced this weird behaviour from Optum recently. Gave interview for Data Scientist position. HR said feedback is positive. Asked for documents. It's been month now since I have shared the documents. I have no update on the offer. Today I called HR, she called me back saying the position is on hold due to recalibration in team, She has shared interview feedbacks to other teams and will get back to me in couple of days. I am clueless now. My last working day is approaching (In a month). Any Help??

Any one from IBM ?
I went through the entire recruitment process and got selected for IBM ISL. Now I am being told by the HR that they are unable to release offer as there is a hiring freeze.
Can any one please tell me if its correct or just an excuse not to give me offer. If its true, when will this freeze be removed?

Honestly, even 3-5 interviews is borderline a little excessive. It does seem terribly inefficient, though. There's no way you actually need anywhere near that many rounds to know if a candidate is a good fit, employers have just gotten accustomed to having all the leverage so they makes these processes drag out as much as they want.
Just lay out your expectations in advance and tell them you're not going to entertain an interview process that has more than X number of conversations. I was interviewing with an IT VAR once and after the sixth interview, when I was told there were more steps remaining, I put stop to the entire process and walked away.
They also claim they encourage diversity but anyone with autism or ADHD will suffer through multiple interviews.
It's absolutely ridiculous.
3 is fine anything more is excessive
It’s wild when you actually back out the hourly salary of the ppl doing the interviews + debriefs. The cost efficiency goes out the window.
Extremely expensive.
I had 4, took the job & got fired 69 days later .
First interview with HR on the phone for screening purposes, then no more thana two after that.
