Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

I ended up getting prepaid Visa cards for $500 each. cost $5 to buy. I gave them to a relative who was visiting US and was going to shop anyway and got cash in return.
Business travel expenses
Nah, I would always use my corporate card for business travel expenses but thank you.
You don’t spend $1300/mo just living your life?
I'm putting all the bills on there (phone, cable, etc) and offering to put my card down whenever I'm out with people (they venmo me back)
Why did you get the card? If you are unable to spend 4K in 3 months are you sure you will make enough points to make up for the $375 or so annual fee ?
$375 annual fee? Not sure where you are getting that number all.
The “annual fee” is $450 with a $300 credit for travel yearly. The categories that are reimbursed for the credit are extremely generous so even if someone isn’t doing a lot of traditional travel, you’d be hard pressed to not receive the full credit every year with no problem.
All that to say, the actual annual fee is $150.
Amazon gift cards, Visa/Amex gift cards if you really are in a tough spot to cross it.
Thank you!
I paid my rent with it. Apartment complex didn’t charge a fee for credit card payments.
@OP - pay any recurring bills early - I paid my phone, light, gas bill, cable - like $500/each early - also buy Amazon gift cards if you shop on Amazon
I wish I had this problem
Technically it’s not a problem - it’s a challenge - to justify the annual fee - but yes, definitely not something to do if yo have other financial challenges
Man, our monthly spend averages 3-4k. Are you sure it's worth it for you to have a CSR? After the initial bonus, you'll have to spend a minimum of 30k each year to offset the $150 annual fee (i.e. 30k earns a 50% bonus when booking, which makes booking power $450 instead of typical $300, netting you$150)
subtract the $300 annual travel credit. You need 15k in annual purchases if you only look at 1x points to offset the $150 fee, but 7.5k if you convert to 1.5x travel rewards
I'm just speaking about capitalizing on CSR vs a no fee credit card. Spending 15k on CSR is worth $225, while $150 on any other card. You need to spend 30k on CSR which is worth $450 vs $300 on no fee card, which covers the $150 CSR fee. Your scenario nets you $0 after spending 10k.
The 1.5x points for travel is a huge savings. This year I've saved $350 just from that. This is from two trips that did not have good point transfer options. The best use of the CSR is partnering it with the other UR cards.
