Just had an interview and it was great (really want the job) but I’m swamped at work and need to finish tasks for the day. Won’t have time to send a thank you note before 6 — is it okay to send on Monday or should I still aim to send tonight?

If you have time to write this post you have time to write a quick thank you note. It's doesn't need to be much longer than this post

likesmart

If you’re spending more than 5 minutes on a thank you note, you’re overthinking it. Just send it at the end of the day.

like

Yes. A thank you and maybe 1 anecdote from the conversation. That’s it.

like

Going to assume your junior because of the question, but you can easily write a thank you note tonight or over the weekend. They’ll see it on Monday. A thank you note is just professional courtesy, but chances are they probably made the decision already regardless of a thank you note. Write it tonight and then move on. Ruminating won’t help anything.

Tl;dr: you’re overthinking it.

What would be a typical salary for a junior in house counsel role (3 yoe) at a publicly traded company in a secondary market (think Austin, Tampa, Charlotte)? I’m having a really hard time finding what a reasonable range would be. Round or exact numbers on banners/LPs? I was curious about this since in negotiations for example or pricing it's better to have the exact number. But if you have a case study, for example, is it better to say "Client X increased their revenue to 1,000,000 ARR" instead of "Client X increased their revenue to 987,500 ARR" ? Anyone has seen any impact on conversion rates?

So I get that in a corporate set up, you are supposed to be sharp and witty and think on your feet. Trouble is, I am extremely slow with comebacks. (Think Ross in Friends/Amy in B99) at the crunch moment, I generally end up not being able to give a good roast back. Unfortunately the best of them come to me like a few hours later (dinner/shower/TV) and I am left ruing and amazing opportunity to have gotten one back. I am awful at jibes and roasts.

Anyone else suffer from this?

Hi friends of fishbowl! A year ago I told myself no more agencies. Then I got a job at another agency and I’m basically hating my life more than ever right now. This place is not good for me mentally and I’ve only been here for 90 days. I should’ve listened to my gut but here we are. So my question is what job titles should I be targeting as a senior project manager if I want to go to to client side?

It’s hard to be motivated when rounds of layoffs happen and you see all your friends leave. But one thing that’s gotten me through all of this is working out. And when I say workout I mean the most pathetic, sad, barely completed beginner-level cardio dance routines. I’ve somehow forced myself to move while on lockdown and it’s somehow forced me to feel better. Whatever you’re doing, wherever you are: get up and move even if you don’t finish or end up going on a walk. Pls take care of yourself❤️
