What would be a typical salary for a junior in house counsel role (3 yoe) at a publicly traded company in a secondary market (think Austin, Tampa, Charlotte)? I have an offer for $130k for a senior attorney position in a boutique L&E firm. Also have a recruiter who thinks she can get me into another for $150-170k. Both are more than I’ve ever made (Denver, 17 yrs of experience but completely different practice areas). So I get that in a corporate set up, you are supposed to be sharp and witty and think on your feet. Trouble is, I am extremely slow with comebacks. (Think Ross in Friends/Amy in B99) at the crunch moment, I generally end up not being able to give a good roast back. Unfortunately the best of them come to me like a few hours later (dinner/shower/TV) and I am left ruing and amazing opportunity to have gotten one back. I am awful at jibes and roasts.

Hi friends of fishbowl! A year ago I told myself no more agencies. Then I got a job at another agency and I’m basically hating my life more than ever right now. This place is not good for me mentally and I’ve only been here for 90 days. I should’ve listened to my gut but here we are. So my question is what job titles should I be targeting as a senior project manager if I want to go to to client side?

It’s hard to be motivated when rounds of layoffs happen and you see all your friends leave. But one thing that’s gotten me through all of this is working out. And when I say workout I mean the most pathetic, sad, barely completed beginner-level cardio dance routines. I’ve somehow forced myself to move while on lockdown and it’s somehow forced me to feel better. Whatever you’re doing, wherever you are: get up and move even if you don’t finish or end up going on a walk. Pls take care of yourself❤️

Right now we have a ton of team leaders on the west coast with the core team on the east coast and because of that urgent requests keep coming down after hours with the expectation to address it immediately.
