That's not coaching it's cheating
Was there an internal interview conducted prior to the client interview to gauge skills and experience? I’m wondering why the client was involved without properly vetting the potential resource first
Isn't this like h1b fraud?
Yikes I didn't know that was a thing
I screened him initially and did not recommend another interview due to his lack of skills, but I was instructed to put him in front of the client anyway. I didn't catch the issue during my first call with him.
Unfortunately it was an Accenture FTE, C1 🙄
People, OP already said twice that they interviewed the person ahead of time and passed on the person but a more senior person insisted on bringing the resource on for a client interview
I see this all the time for Technical resources who are trying to get an H1B or maintain their status by finding another role. Its embarrassing and a major waste of time. Thankfully we don't have the client on the initial interviews otherwise our reputation would have been in the toilet.
In all fair and OP, this is on you. Yes RM should have done a better job, BUT you are the boot on the ground and manage the relationship and represent ur brand. In all honesty you should have done a better job of not only vetting the person but pushing back on ur partner or whoever said to put him in front of the client
@d1 no it's OPs fault that said candidate was not vetted properly. Had that occurred, said candidate would not have been in front of the client. Due diligence. Continue to your casket now since you're dead.
What kind of skills are we talking, here? As it happens I'm looking for a new opportunity myself. 😂
You are right about the entitled part. I did not mean it that way. Just from my experience. My apologies...
LOL at all the folks here who think OP's at fault for not vetting but couldn't be bothered to pay attention to the details in the thread explaining that they did. 😂
PWC3: the reason why there is an assumption that this was a person gunning for an H1B visa is the fact that many of us have encountered exactly this in that kind of situation. I've had people try to skate by while googling, having another person stand in for them on a phone screen, or getting coaching via text. Every time...every single time...they were offshore resources looking to come to the US. The assumption on the part of all these people is likely based on the statistical result of their own experiences.
As in, phone interview and the resource had it on speaker and someone was coaching them?
The client put him on mute, told the rest of us what he thought, then threw a few more challenging questions at him to gauge his response. After what appeared to be more coaching going on in the background, we cut the interview short.
Is there any chance the person being interviewed is hard of hearing and needed the help of an interpreter?
It strikes me as sketchy you let clients interview your employees for a project role. Aren’t clients hiring you for results? It’s your responsibly to bring the right talent.
Don’t call this person back. Let them go
Was this a subcontractor ? We have these problems ALL the time with subcontractors at Cap
I sure did OP. I just honestly have no idea of the cast of characters, the actions, or resolutions
Oh man a corporate serena williams...
