Negotiating with EY for M/SM Tech Consulting. I have 15 years experience, skills are in demand and my interviews went extremely well. 1. What are the salary ranges for M and SM in NYC. 2. I am told it is only going to be a M now, for my own benefit-no EY network means failure at selling. Whats the highest salary I can negotiate at M. Any other tips will be handy. I have "sold" (support on sales & new roles through relationships) plus I have solid delivery experience. I really want SM 😀😀😀 EY

Agreed with M1. I have never heard of a SC getting this much. You must be having good number of yoe.
Congrats.
2 in DS, 8 in the intel space.
This awesome! Congrats
Damn that is a solid SC offer from Deloitte Advisory. Haven’t seen anything over 135/140 and that’s top of band typically. You could bring up the fact repayment and ask for 20k sign-on maybe they will at least bring up to 15.
D5, its just confusing a bit because the last time D offered me a position they tried sticking me in another intel area and tried saying I only had 2 years of useful experience. I don’t think they were being malicious, but still.
So what I’m hearing overall is ask for 20k sign-on, settle for ~15, pay back my current company and enjoy... I think thats fair, I think asking for over 20 would seem greedy... i just figure after taxes and everything off 8, I’m still coming out of pocket to pay my company back.
For anyone wanting to keep tabs, I told them I needed a bit of time for HR to get back to me on what I owe, without waiting for a number, they countered with 155k and 10k sign on. Very likely going to take it, just need to talk to the team lead again to get the lay of the land on the contract. Thanks for the advice all!
Congratulations!!
Dang that’s a pretty good base salary for an sc
I figure like M1 said, ask for a higher sign-on and don’t touch the base (I’m assuming I’m near or at the top as I know I have previously priced out other contracts). I’m not to worried about paying my other company back (especially with a 15-17k sign on if I ask for 20) because the pay increase would pay for my grad program easy.

What’s the bonus?
8k sign on and up 12% for the yearly
Doesn’t sound worth it unless it’s a promotion, better company, or more aligned with your field of interest
Current company is Leidos/BAH type (sticking with anonymity)
That’s a damn good offer. I’m an Advisory M with the same yoe and same salary.
D2 would you still argue for a higher sign on given the situation?
Any thoughts if/how I should bring a offer difference like this to my current employer?
Take it. That’s what advisory normally pays sr managers
D3 would you still argue for a higher sign on given the situation?
What level clearance do you have?
Yeah I’d definitely ask for 20k sign on if you got top secret.

OP this offer is amazing - have you tried interviewing at Deloitte consulting? Looks like you have the skills to get an even higher salary
M1, thats fine, I’m in it all for the education!
That’s amazing. Interesting and insulting to see how incredibly more DT pays its external hires.
