I think taking more time off is better. Using the summer time to reset could be beneficial. Do Aug/September
I think Aug/Sept is always a good place to start something new. Summer should at least partially be for rest, and logistically it's usually easier. I would also consider how much time you feel you need to prepare. If you feel like you'll be ready by July, start then!
Congrats and good luck with your new job. Have fun with your time off and relax and enjoy it. I would start August/September.
Congratulations on your new offer! I'd say starting September would be better as it would be in alignment with a new season. Take the summer to rest.
Thank you all for your input.
This is the perfect opportunity for you to make good use of summer. August/September would be a better starting point for you. But if you think you'll be ready to get started by July, then go for it. You have more than enough time to prepare.
I would love to take off the whole summer. I can’t. I have a mortgage to pay for. Thanks though.
