Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase

I’ve been put on PiP and I’ll be getting laid off soon and I feel pretty similar.
@D1 PIP is basically an official way to kick you out. This could be for any reason and not limited to agency/company not wanting to give you a raise, they don’t have budget, you’re not a cultural fit, didn’t a$$ kiss enough or the right people, or maybe your performance is actually not meeting the requirements. But that last one is rarely the case. Usually when that is the case, and if you’re tight with the manager he will try to keep you if he actually likes you. You really have to pay attention to see what the issue really is. I know in my case there’s a managers friend from previous agency wanting to move up to my position and there’s no budget for more people, easiest way for him would be to give me some bs excuse to kick me out and get him to my position.

Depends if you are an ACD designer or ACD copywriter. Either give you a ton of experience in creative problem solving, which is awesome. For copywriting, I’d say PR, corporate communications, media training instruction, community affairs. For designers, set design, gallery curator, interior designer.
Try going in-house. There’s lots of jobs. More than at the agencies right now. Just gotta find the right company that you like.
I always felt like brand management would be the easist transition. Or maybe teaching.
