Hello! Question for anyone that works at Google if I have hit my 3 applications per 90 days can I still apply to an additional role through a referral link? Or will I have to wait until the 90 days is up? Actually asking for a friend that doesn’t have this app 😊 thanks in advance for any insight.

If you’re not fully fed up with the consulting grind / WLB then my recommendation would be to take the promo and stay as an M for another 5+ months. Your exit opportunities will be a lot better then.
That’s what I’m thinking too - I’m not burnt out, just very much aware of what lies down the road. Wife and I want another child in the next year or so. Was thinking I could grind it out for another year and take off when the baby comes.
Only you know what will work for you but you can ask yourself: how do you feel about your current work situation on a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being „Hate it“ and 10 „Happiest I ever was“.
If you are not that unhappy and given that you are probably somewhere in your mid 20s to mid 30s, you could also play along with the B4 job as I‘m positive that you‘ll find another industry opportunity in the next 3 years or whenever you feel like it‘s time to quit consulting.
I’d give it a solid 6.
I’m in a key position within a strategic engagement, so lots of leverage (hence the rapid promotion). That said, I’m putting in 50+h/w while raising a family and the looming fear of waking up 10 years from now and being depressed + out of shape is just too real when I look at how I’m trending.
At the same time I feel like getting that extra year as a manager on my CV would definitely pay off if I stick with consulting for another year…
The bigger question that only you can answer is: what are your goals/ambitions and what are your priorities?
On one end I want better work/life balance, but on the other hand I feel like it’d be a waste to give up a promotion after working so hard for it (sunk cost fallacy, I know).
Sort of at odds between going for the comfortable option vs the more challenging/higher paying one.
Promo with 1-2 years then leverage the title into a better titled potentially Entry Executive industry role. Also asses where you are in life, do you have the appetite for an 80 hr work week? Are you looking to spend more time with whatever relationships you have? Do you have adequate income that you are truly enjoying your life? What is your goal? I.e Work those 80 hour consulting weeks to maybe retire a year or two early wouldn’t you like to enjoy your youth. I myself am exiting consulting to enjoy my first new born daughter’s growth which I missed out a lot on the first year because of chasing an endless promotion cycle.
Always be some good and bad points in these kinds of situations. I would also consider what the job market will look like in another year or so. I’m thinking it'll be better and even more opportunities out there, but also not sure what will come and go between then.
Go wherever you will like the work itself more, not the WlB as that will come and go in industry as much as consulting, follow the work you are most passionate about
Honestly you have to do what is best for you and none of us know what that is. However if you are thinking about leavng at all then I think that gives you your answer. I would recommend going for the new role
