Two questions:
How would you ask about the flexibility of the location of a role? I'm interviewing for a role on the west coast, but I do have plans in future to move back east at some point - I currently work at a company that allows me to work from either. How would you approach this and would you do it in the interview or once you reach the offer stage?
How can you tell what level a job is at Amazon Web Services? I'm feeling a little in the dark as to what my expectations can be.

have you considered reaching out to *them*? emails work both ways, you know
Oh I do reach out but you can only initiate so many times!
People are busy. Odds are they are just focusing on what and who are in front of them and it has nothing to do with you personally
Still a bummer but don’t take it personally
That was what shocked me the most about exiting.
People I worked with for years wouldn’t even text me back. Some people I worked with for a few weeks in passing or even just met at a happy hour still connect every few months. There’s no pattern.

It's not personal. I barely talk to my close family. Let alone former colleagues. Life is busy.
I set up standing meetings for either monthly or bi-monthly for those I want to keep in touch with and in my network.
There are no friends in Corporate America. It’s business
Wow, I still get a phone calls from workers for a position. I left five years ago.
Yeah. I had a contract that lasted for almost twenty years. I loved the statewide network I supported, but the stress of working for an inconsistent egomaniac was something I wasn't willing to deal with any longer and I'm glad I left. Strangely, the guy tried to tell me I still owed him work a couple months later, but I had evidence that was wrong. They created a special six week SOW for me to finish up and document my duties and I did a great job, but it is never enough. As soon as you leave, it's like you never existed, but that's how it is. I feel pretty lucky to have gotten almost 20 years out of that gig, so that's what I try to focus on.
Do you reach out to them?
Group texts work well for me and former colleagues. Start sending out messages on holidays. Put together 5-10 people that know each other. Send out a Happy Easter if appropriate in April. iIn May and June and send out happy Mother’s and Father’s Day messages to any parents. Most people will respond. There usually isn’t much substance to the messages but it keeps pipelines open and occasionally someone will fill you in on big life or work events.
Update tried reaching out to someone and got basically no engagement back. Guess that ship has sailed 🤷🏼♀️
