Let go as a senior accountant at 81k, industry, 3x in-office, 1.5hr commute each way.

Mass applied, got tons of interviews, but never really making it to the final rounds except for 3:
1 that I rejected early: PA, staff, remote
1 that I rejected; industry, staff, hybrid, 3x in-office for ~2hrs each way

Took the last offer; staff, PA, 75k, fully remote.

I feel like after all the warnings not to go back to PA/client services, I'm a little unnerved and scared...

The salary is terrible, but getting a job at all was a priority obviously. And getting rid of a 3 hour round trip commute is life changing. Just go in with a fresh and eager mindset. Now that you have an income again, you can casually look around if you end up feeling unhappy.

like

And use that commute time to work on yourself. Join groups, daily walks, exercise, learn to cook. PA as an Associate in a remote scenario can be rough. But if you use that 2 hours a day - you can better tackle it.

I like starting new jobs because I can sort of reinvent myself a bit. Good Luck!!

You could have a better experience this time around. Who knows! How are you feeling about losing your most recent job?

I truly hope so. Thank you both truly ❤️

Take the job, especially with it being remote! And you can always look for something else on the side. With the way the market it, might just want to take the job

I actually left my last last job for what I thought was my dream job turned nightmare. That prior job was less than a year and I was fired on my 10th month at that "dream job" so it was back to back short tenures.

I don't think I can leave again under 1.5 or even 2 years without wrecking my resume BUT get it. Stick it out here and there's always more fish after I finish up my 1.5 - 2yrs here haha.

Thats a low offer for a senior level associate. New grads with out CPA are making $75k - 80k in Washington State.

Update?

Hey all! I went through the interviewing process with a company and we had a verbal agreement on X amount of salary per year. They liked me and extended an offer but the offer was for $15K less than what we agreed bc that’s what HR approved for. I was desperate so I took it. Accepting this offer meant that I had to relocate to the other side of the country. Omw that was 2500 miles, I received a call that they rescinded the offer. Is there anything legal that I can do to sue them?
