Let’s bloodbath begin
Does Zoom have an employee referral program? If yes, can someone refer me to an open position? Please reach out if so. Zoom
Haha WebEx for me 😭😝
Do Feds really not know we can see their Skype status that they have been away from their computer for 8 hrs on their telework day?
Just discovered a public slack channel (that very much should have been private) that a few women at my work have been using to bitch about the co-workers they don’t like. There’s a lot of very mean posts about several of the CDs, account people, producers etc. There’s quite a few hateful posts about me and my partner too 🙈 should I tell them?
Almost done with second weeks in industry. I absolutely LOVE IT! Ive been making a point to reach out to people from different teams via Slack and arrange a quick meet and greet zoom call. Been introducing myself mostly to the heads of each department, head of marketing, head of sales, head of product development. to get a better idea of what everyone does, and asked sales/product for walkthroughs of the products so that I know exactly what we offer as a company
Hi music teachers! How are you surviving? I’ve been teaching band and choir for a long time, but distance learning and Zoom has me stumped. I’m lucky to have a job, I realize. What are some things you’re doing in your virtual classrooms that your music students enjoy?
It’s awards season for Scroogiest Company of the year! Time for Q4 cuts and gotcha just kidding about them bonuses haha memorable moments.
I’ll go first- Argonaut just laid off a lot of people right before the Dec. 9th bonus dispersal date that was promised for folks who had been employed since March 2020. Those crazy kids! Always up to something silly!
Gonna go ahead and say though that Better is still narrowly in first place after the Zoom firing holiday Xmas special. Who else?
I have cleared all the interview rounds (WebEx & HR on call) for the position: VERIFIER, and also submitted documents (authentic as per my knowledge) for background verification on Aug. 25, 2022.
How much time usually ICICI bank takes to generate Offer Letter, after all the verification process??
Need an opinion. I just finished week 2. I do an hour after school club at my district once a week on zoom and none of my own schools students participate. I received a very nasty and aggressive email from a parent making threats and hyperbolic accusations so I forwarded the email to the personnel at the district. They were supportive but is still willing to “work together to assist her”. I thought I was pretty vocal that I did not appreciate the way she addressed me and don’t take lightly to
Doing an internship from home over zoom in a different country, anyone got any general advice? Especially when it comes to the social aspect. Thank you:)
Had a minor surgery yesterday now trying to strategically ration my Percocet around these five client Zoom calls through today...🤪
Morale is low rn on my team. Superstar team members have left the firm, and more members are trying to leave before busy season because we’ve had to pick up the slack. How to still stay motivated?
Our SM project lead is rolling off this week and leaving the firm for another opportunity. Our team is spread across the country - any recommendations for a virtual send-off aside from a Zoom HH?
Who successfully avoids turning on their Zoom video for most meetings? I always use the excuse of weak internet connection, and it usually works 🤔😏
Anyone combine ADHD meds with Nootropics? I do a lot of work in the startup/VC community and it seems everyone in that world is obsessed with nootropics. They have private message boards, meetups, etc., just to discuss the topic. I know at least a half dozen companies that have very active Slack channels on the topic where everyone from the CEO on down debates various cocktails, programs, brands.
Am I missing something? Last I read the research was VERY inconclusive.

Come join us as we talk about Student Motivation and MORE. Why is motivating our students to learn so difficult? What can we do to help them WANT to learn? What are you doing that is working really well? Chat with teachers from all over and share, talk, vent, or just listen.
I’ve been with Accenture for 10 years and starting to get a few bites outside. Do you still wear suits to a interview or zoom call or is business casual ok? Years ago it was always suits but not sure about 2020. Not an executive role.
Thanks and have a great thirsty Thursday!
Good ways to say goodbye and good luck to a team member? All of the team is virtual and hence can’t do a lunch/happy hour sort of thing. Not interested in virtual happy hour. Looking for something more fun and creative

Anyone at PwC heard anything more about FDD raises? Seems super weird that a pocket of people have heard but most haven't seemed to?
A fellow colleague told me not to include our PM on our work stream emails. We are at the same level but want to ensure I’m getting visibility. Recommendations?

We have a one year old. How do you and your partner have productive discussions and disagreements on what is/isn’t ok in terms of parenting?
The “get and transform” feature I am going to have to play around with. Seems like it could make partner allocations so much easier for example most of today I spent taking data from one workbook to another
New analyst question: Why do we present the amount of crossover rounds when looking at IPOs in the market? This is in a marketing deck I’m not staffed on, just curious.
After shifting it has been so hectic for me. I am so ill today 😭😭😭 this was such a traumatic week. I have stomach ache and fever. Kal leave le na pad raha. Office kal nai Jana aaur.
Thanks for making this bowl all gender inclusive. The other bowl simply was outdated and lacked any kind of diversity whatsoever at all.
Best advice for surviving busy season?

Thanks in advance.
My sister is currently a junior in high school and wants to get into computer science. Admissions for college says she needs experience that aren’t web development related. Are there any programs or online classes that anyone recommends for high schoolers?

2 days ago YouTube ads asked me to vote YES on something Indian tribe area gambling thing. Today, another YouTube ads asked me to vote NO.
This is a fxxked up world. Algorithms could really control some of the voting results.
Is it possible to switch to tech lead roles early in your career? (2-4 YOE)? And what does a tech lead do on a team? I know it varies project to project but trying to get a sense of basic responsibilities and flavors of the role out there. Thanks much!
Are H1B visa changes coming? The news reports going around seems scary, looks like we will all get deported
EY fish, I have been working with a recruiter (in GPS) that has been extremely helpful throughout the entire process. What's the best way to let his management know that he's awesome?
What exactly is the difference between systems engineering and IT implementations? Is there mostly a focus on custom built applications?
Never used BlueJeans, Webex is ok, Teams is amazing.
Give Teams an honest try:
- works well and you know what you’re doing
- good audio/video quality (nothing like Skype)
- knows your organization so search results are sorted by hierarchy proximity
- unified experience cross-platform
- simple, OneDrive/Dropbox like, document sharing through sharepoint: like a network drive but with document versioning and same time editing through Office365
- many out-of-the box addons like tasks - basically same as Trello, so enough for most of my projects
- lastly, should you have any specific need, you can create custom apps with PowerApps and PowerFlow, directly from a web app and in less than an hour.
Teams is what Sharepoint should have always been and destroys any collaborative solution I have ever seen
Lots of Teams hate in the world, but I'm on board. It's to the point with addons that it can be most of my ecosystem to work in. Collaboration with o365 has improved so much in the last few years (although I never open a document in Teams itself).
For different projects I'm still stuck in Skype (horrible interface that doesnt work much of the time), Zoom (I like, but doesnt have as much prebuilt collaboration tools), and Slack.
Slack looks like a great tool, but I'm an old who havent given over to trying to replace emails with this as they advertise. Don't know if anyone does??. Good interface, but I dont know I give it any more props than Teams.
Teams hands down, first time I used something MS that seemingly works really well. So much better than Skype.
Agree. So frustrating when we have to swop back to Skype for Business when calling some of the offices that haven't switched to Teams yet.
For meetings? WebEx. For collaboration? Slack. Never teams and wth uses BlueJeans?
I can’t wait til the day when I get to Never use any Microsoft products ever again.
...but I digress.
I vote for Slack & Zoom
This is Microsoft:
Zoom and slack. Or google meetins
Teams and Zoom. That’s what I have access to. Zoom is good for meetings and Teams is slowly growing on me. Better than email for many communication pattens.
Used them all at some point.
Slack is the most intuitive when it comes to chat, especially on mobile. Besides chat, I used it most often to call co-workers in different countries when we needed to speak on the fly. It was cool.
Teams is better overall for collaboration, group editing, and app integrations. It has chat and conference call capabilities plus scheduling from Outlook. I like Teams.
WebEx is the corporate conference call app that’s been around forever.
BlueJeans was the newest for me. A client used it for conference calls. Don’t know of any other capabilities with it. No problems.
Zoom seems popular with start-ups and small businesses for video conferencing. They are the only ones I’ve worked with that send invites from Zoom. Guess it’s low cost. I never had problem with it.
I’ve also used RingCentral and GoTo Meetings. Meh to both.
I have used the whole set and honestly Teams is crushing it. They have the stream recording with transcription, and the whiteboard for tablet users. Check their feature pipeline and it is looking great
I don't understand the hate against MS Teams in this thread. It's great from a colloboration perspective. If you've ever used Basecamp it reminds me of that but with better integration into the rest of the MS Suite. My biggest complaint is that you can't pop out windows for individual chats, teams, or channels so you can't fully multi-task. If they fix that I'm all in.
I like Teams. I’m working with Teams. I deploy Teams. My only concerns that Teams slowly becomes 200 pound gorilla. MS keeps putting to much capabilities intro the platform.
We started using Teams around a year ago. At first it seemed like a clone of Slack. But, it's been improving a lot, and it's integration with other Microsoft products is incredible. Not a fan of Microsoft in general, but it's a big step up from Skype for Business and all the other isolated tools we used to use.
Zoom FTW, Teams close second at premium sub. Cisco did to WebEx what MS did to TellMe
Hangouts Meet :)
UPD: for audio and video conferencing
Adobe professional services uses BlueJeans. I was working on an engagement with them. The audio quality was actually pretty good.
Oops. I’ll defer to you
We use Blue Jeans and Slack and the combination works great. Blue Jeans is good, has the features that we need - easy Outlook integration, integration with conference rooms is good, video sharing and recording is on point. Had only one big outage for an hour, so not bad.
Used MS teams in my prior job, felt it was trying too hard to be Slack and Skype together (not that I can blame MS for it).
My phone: because it works
Teams, but I wasn’t aware that WebEx did more than meetings. Never heard of blue jeans.
