Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

No one needs to (or wants to) hear all this.
Just tell em u want to move on to a new role with new challenges.
I dunno. Sounds like, at a minimum, there was a difference in creative vision — which is a polite way of saying there was usual political office shit in play. If you tie that back to a positive - “wanted to make more of a difference” it says something about you and is a good litmus test of how committed the new agency is to moving the needle.
My two cents.
I’d say you were promised growth opportunities that never came to be
This is what you say during your exit interview at your current agency :-/
Honestly I may not bother. I think they understand how I feel and mostly wish I'd perk up so they can keep believing their friend is a genius. 🤷♀️
I do want to stress that I am very, very aware that I should not say any of this in an interview, which is why I asked for ideas about what to say instead.
At your level to say “new challenges and growth” is pretty standard and believable stuff. It’s also not a lie since you were positioning yourself for promotion and was blocked by this (nepotistic) hire.
You just need to say that you’re looking to move your reel more in xx-direction so you’re looking for new opportunities.
