I’m in Houston and alone. I’m involved in my church and some Christian singles groups I’ve found and connected with on Facebook. I also see some of the regular singles groups, so it might depend on your age and interests.
I’ve also made friends attending Astros games and the other sports have fun groups too.
If you’re into running or exercise, people often make friends through that.
I think you want to figure out what you are passionate about (which seems like you’re still working on). Then, you can find others who are passionate about it too.
Club Westside is great for Tennis players, yoga, has a gym and holiday events.
Volunteering? Find something that you care about/enjoy. A hobby. Take a chance on something new - you might like it.
Tell us about yourself like, what’s your age and gender.
What aside of houston are you based in? Do you enjoy physical activity, or mental activity? Like pickle ball and softball league vs. trivia night or card games.
Some ppl have touched up on religion, I think that’s a fast and cheap way to access a community you already something in common.
I am 32, male, and love community. So I picked a super niche sport/activity and looked for ppl that were into it, within a year, I have a full group of very diverse guys that I see multiple times a week to engage in it and banter with.
I also like EDM (music), but I don’t get to spend as much time doing that anymore so I just try to attend an event quarterly and that’s turned into a solo activity that felt lonely in the beginning but I really cherish it.
All this to say, use this time to reflect on what you’d like to get into again from your past vs. something you’d like to get into that would be new to you. Then aim to fail at it as much and as quickly as you can. Within a few weeks, you’ll start to either realize how you don’t actually like those activities, or you’ll start to establish your own lil village.
