Looking to break into a sales role in either onsite design/build residential construction sales or remote home kit sales (timber framing, barndominium, etc.). While nothing is really available, I’m building my skills through blueprint and 3D modeling design courses (VDCI). I’m currently in home improvement sales with a background in residential construction inspection and carpentry.

Any advice for how to find more of these opportunities or things I can do to improve the resume in the meantime?

My company blames my generation for not being able to hire everyday. “You guys don’t want to work” coming from some overweight, racist, old coaster. I’ve barely taken any days off this year and pick up “skeleton crew” days any chance I get. I was able to work out a deal with my company before I came because of prior experience luckily, but they offer a terrible base salary and sham of a commission structure to new hires + no remote.
