Looking to get some advice. What option would you choose?

1.) Transfer out of PDM at the end of the year and stay at your current level for a few years before being able to go up for promotion

OR

2.) Go up for promo next year and possibly transfer a year after that to core

Become a manager first and then transfer

like

Do you think there are skills that Managers in Core have that PDMs just don’t get exposed to?

It isn't rocket science. You can figure it out as you go .
Also if you ever decide to exit , you already have the title of manager on your profile / resume . And the salary increments/ band of a manager is higher than that of a sc .

What's your level in PDM?

PDS II

Curious about this for me too, I’m a PDM senior analyst

Do you have PPMD support to move ? If yes , it can happen at any level. If no, it can never happen at any level.

Yes I do

Op did you get transferred?

I have an offer accepted from Elevance 125k (Anthem) and w a good team and seems that WLB would be ok. Also, Amazon hiring manager wants to interview me for a job. Is just a hiring manager int. so obvi nothing guaranteed. Salary if offered will be more than 150k. My question is should I accept the interview and see where it goes? Is it really worth it to proceed with a company like Amazon for 25k+. I live in CA so $ is imp but I do have a toddler so WLB is also imp. Both role are Sr. MGR.

Recently joined the firm as a project delivery specialist. During recruiting, the team harped on how great my background was and how much a good fit I would be for the firm/project...

Well, I was on an onboarding call and they were talking about staffing and projects. The presenter said to reach out to them if you don’t think your project is a good fit. In his words “you were hired into the firm, not a specific project. We see you here long term... With the exception of PDM model” 😅
